Since 1984, Alpha Phi has been a home to intellectually ambitious members, deeply invested in the world around them. Founded by sixty-four extraordinary women as MIT's first Panhellenic sorority, our chapter is built on support, scholarship, service, and sisterhood.

Our chapter is home to 100+ sisters who are Marshall Scholars and SpaceX-bound engineers, national champion athletes and startup founders. We intern at the World Wildlife Fund and Pfizer, Blue Origin and Boeing, McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs, and conduct research from Peru to Armenia to Kenya.

Sixty of us live in our beautiful Boston brownstone home (a.k.a. the Phi Hive), where mornings start with chatter over coffee, afternoons are spent at Fenway Park baseball games and Newbury Street café study sessions, and we look forward to cozy dinners from our lovely chef, movie nights, baking sessions, and late-night debriefs. We relax on our roof overlooking the city, travel together over IAP through MISTI programs, and come home closer than when we left. We celebrate each other relentlessly, editing resumes and job applications, staying up through hard weeks, and cheering on our sisters at performances and competitions.

Our alumnae have gone on to lead companies and shape industries — and they come back. They return to the Phi Hive to share what they know and invest in our journeys. Alpha Phi is a lifelong network, and forty years of extraordinary women are proof of MIT Alpha Phi’s legacy
